The U.S. bishops’ Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) has given the Washington Interfaith Network (WIN) more than $400,000 across nine grant cycles since 2009, including $25,000 in 2026. The controversy concerns WIN’s leadership and CCHD oversight. Former CCHD grant specialist Randy Keesler was responsible for the Washington, D.C., region while also holding leadership roles within WIN - creating a potential conflict of interest. WIN is now headed by Protestant preacher Alison Dunn-Almauger, its executive director, who backed a homosexual campaign at Baylor University. Even more striking is WIN strategy-team member Rev. Rob Keithan, who previously worked with Planned Parenthood.

The final programme for the annual Rome pilgrimage of the Traditional Roman Rite (23–25 October) has been announced. However, there is a notable change this year: the pilgrims will enter St Peter's Basilica at 1 p.m. to pray, but there will be no Mass. Instead, pilgrims will travel to the Basilica of St Mary Major, where Bishop Athanasius Schneider will celebrate Mass at 3 p.m. On Friday evening, Bishop Schneider will preside over Pontifical Vespers at the Pantheon. Unlike in previous years, no cardinal is scheduled to celebrate the principal liturgies. On Sunday, the traditional Feast of Christ the King, Masses will be held at San Giovanni Battista dei Fiorentini, Santissima Trinità dei Pellegrini and Sant’Anna al Laterano. Completed in May 2026, the restoration of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill, Nebraska, revived its historic artistic character. Like many churches, its interior was disfigured in the mid-20th century, including the loss of its original apsidal fresco and installation of a monumental crucifix with a faux stained-glass-style backdrop. Conrad Schmitt Studios renewed the interior with stenciling, gold leaf, faux-marbled columns, and a new apsidal mural depicting the Ascension. The project also returned the high altar to prominence.

Today, the Vatican released the final report of Synodal Study Group 6, which deals with relations between bishops, religious and consecrated life, and lay ecclesial associations. The Second Pastoral Synod of the Archdiocese of Kraków degenerates into a 'rainbow event'. It opened in March 2026 under the leadership of Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś, and the first 56-page report was produced on 19 June. A Synodal Day of Recollection has been scheduled for 10 October 2026, and the next plenary session is planned for 12–13 February 2027. 09.09.2026 MISSIONARIES OF CHARITY IN ROME LABELLED ‘DOMESTIC TERRORIST’? : BIBLE, VC2 AND CATECHISM OF POPE JOHN PAUL II ‘POLITICALLY DANGEROUS’. Yesterday (Sept 8) I formally asked the religious community Missionaries of Charity Contemplative Brothers of Mother Teresa, Rome, if I could join them as a religious brother. I am ready to be consecrated and take vows. I wrote to Fr. Ramon Lustiner m.c, the Father General of the community. He is in Rome these days. I had been living in a dormitory of their Home for the Aged, Casa Serena. I participated in their daily prayers, at the mother house. My Eucharistic Adoration time was 8 a.m to 10 a.m and then 7 p.m to 8 p.m before the night prayers. But to accept me as a member of their religious community, to live with them as a brother, Fr. Ramon needs the permission of the secular police in Rome.
