Pope Leo violates the Principle of Non Contradiction of Aristotle, in the interpretation of Vatican Council II. The Consistory follows him.
If someone is saved outside the Catholic Church, without ‘faith and baptism’ (AG 7), he is in Heaven and known only to God. But for Pope Leo and the Consistory, he is an explicit exception for the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS) of the Council of Florence 1442. In other words, he is visible on earth, to be an exception for the past exclusivist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church. But an invisible person cannot be an exception for EENS. Someone has to be there, to exist in our reality, to be an exception.
If there is a box oranges and there is an apple in the middle of that box, then that apple is an exception, since it is different but also because it is there in that box. If it was not there at that time it would not be an exception.
So for Pope Leo the person is in Heaven and visible on earth at the same time. This is the reasoning of the cardinals at the Consistory.
It is common sense that an invisible person cannot be an exception for the Athanasius Creed which says all need to be Catholic for salvation from Hell. But for Pope Leo, Lumen Gentium 16 is an objective exception for the Athanasius Creed. In other words, he sees people on earth, who are also known to God in Heaven, at the same time.
At the physical level of matter, at the Newtonian level of physics, how can something or someone be in two places at the same time?
At the level of quantum physics, the most basic building block of matter, light, for example, can be a wave and particle at the same time. It depends upon what the researcher is looking for. This is standard physics being taught at the colleges here. But in general at the human level of reality, we human beings cannot see people in Heaven who are also visible on earth at the same time.
This would violate Aristotle’s Principle of Non Contradiction. A thing cannot be in two places at the same time.
If a pope violates the Principle of Non Contradiction it still is a violation.
He would be a Feeneyite on Vatican Council II, the baptism of desire (LG 14), EENS, the Creeds and Catechisms, like the St. Benedict Center in New Hampshire. This is the community of Fr. Leonard Feeney of Boston. They are traditionalists. Unlike, the St. Benedict Center, the Diocese of Manchester in New Hampshire of Bishop Peter Libasci, has rejected de fide teachings ( Creeds, Councils and Catechisms interpreted rationally). Bishop Libasci, like Pope Leo and the Consistory, is in open-schism, with the ecclesiology of the Middle Ages and the Early Catholic Church.
For the Consistory-cardinals to confuse something invisible as being visible is an empirical mistake. This is not Catholic philosophy. It violates Newton’s laws on matter, weight, gravity, velocity, buoyancy of water, force, etc. - Lionel Andrades
